It's time you tried Watermelon chicken.
It isn't any weird gastronomical combination that mixes fruit and meat.
Rather, the watermelon shell is converted into a sealed vessel used for cooking the chicken.
The nice old ladies in the video first cleanly slice the watermelon into unequal halves, so that there's a 'lid' and a 'bottom' part for their modified cooking vessel.
They expertly scoop out the fruit and seeds so that only the rind is left. The hollow fruit bottom now has space to hold stuff for cooking.
Chicken is then prepared with various masala ingredients including onions and the mix is then put into the watermelon 'vessel', which has been padded with leaves.
The 'top' is then placed on the vessel, and sharp, thin sticks are used to ensure that both parts are held together.
The whole fruit vessel is now placed on a wood fire and they wait until the rind turns sufficiently charred.
Then the chicken slices within the fruit vessel are taken out and passed on to the awaiting children, who clearly indicate that they are savoring something very delicious.
